Mode of transport to reach
A great number of people show up at the Dudhsagar falls by jeep or by their own private vehicle from Panaji and close-by zones, others decide to visit the falls through a train venture or by traveling. The Dudhsagar Railway journey is shut to people in general however the trip to the lower falls is as yet open. It is suggested to hire a taxi as they will drop you near the falls. Trek
Visiting Dudhsagar Fall is incomplete without trekking. One can experience trekking from Castle Rock. In lateral period trek station is being closed in Dudh Sagar for the consideration of the general public and it is also of not that great in earlier days. The rail trek in the Dudh Sagar is being closed at the top for the safety purpose of the public, but the trekking at the bottom of the falls is still open.
We can make use of the available two routes which would help you to reach the trek point. Start the trek from Kulem then follow the jeep trail until you arrive at the base of the cascade and we can also trek by following the railway track which is connected to the base of the falls and trek till the Sonaulim station.
Best time to visit
It is recommended to visit the falls from March to October based on the climate. A large number of guests come to encounter the glorious perspective on these falls. The zone is wealthy in biodiversity which is encircled by deciduous backwoods. There are a few pools in Dudhsagar, to swim and go through a day brimming with fun. The Monsoon long periods of June to September, are the most beautiful when the whole territory is rich and green, anyway during these months the entrance to the cascades could be sliced off because of overwhelmed streams and tremendous amounts of water falling down the falls.
Myths
A delightful princess of goa who used to adore washing up in a lake close to her dwelling place, by and by Dudhsagar. In her washing custom, it was given that she would complete her shower with a beverage of improved milk in her gold mug. One fine day when she was out having a shower in the lake, she saw a beguiling ruler looking at her from a far distance.
She quickly spilled the milk in the water to bar his view through the completely clear water of the lake. It is said that it is her cup of milk that is streaming unendingly in the surges of the cascade, henceforth the name Dudh-Sagar cascade.
