Suresh Raina who flew back to India from Dubai on 29 August, has finally come out and explained about his sudden exit from the tournament. His sudden exit from the IPL left everyone in shock.
In the recent interview with Cricbuzz, Raina explained the reason for returning to India and also talked about his future plans.
Suresh Raina also cleared the baseless speculations of a rift between him and MS Dhoni.
He said, “No one would just let go 12.5 crore amount, there must be a definite solid reason for it. I have retired from International Cricket but I am still very fit and young to play the sport. I am looking to continue to play for at least other 4-5 years in the IPL.”
While talking about the incident which happened with his family, he told, “It was a personal decision and I had to come back for my family. There was something that needed to be addressed immediately on the home front. CSK is my family too and Mahi bhai (MS Dhoni) is very important to me and this was a tough decision.”
Suresh Raina also said that he is not in the mood of resting and is working really hard even in the quarantine to keep his body in shape so whenever the opportunity arises he can grab it with full-strength.
Suresh Raina also talked about the COVID-19 spread in Chennai Super Kings where 12 members tested positive including pace bowler Deepak Chahar and Ruturaj Gaikwad.
He told that the disease is very deadly and even in the biosecure bubble where so many precautions are taken the disease can happen then how deadly it can be to anyone.
He prayed for the CSK members who tested positive and wished them a quick recovery.
If Suresh Raina makes a comeback later in the season it will definitely benefit the team as they haven’t announced his replacement.
Lasith Malinga to miss IPL 2020 due to personal reasons

On 2 September the legendary pacer bowler Lasith Malinga will not be a part of IPL 2020 which will be hosted in UAE confirmed Mumbai Indians.
The franchise told to officials the owing to the personal reasons the bowler cannot fulfil the commitments for this season. The franchise looked for a like for like replacement and opted for James Pattinson.
“Lasith Malinga has requested unavailability for the season for personal reasons and to be with family back home in Sri Lanka. James Pattinson will join MI Family currently based in Abu Dhabi this weekend,” Mumbai Indians said in a press release.
Malinga is the most crucial part of Mumbai Indians owling attack alongside Jasprit Bumrah. He is the leading wicket-taking in the history of IPL with 180 scalps to his name in 122 games.
In the last season, Malinga took 16 wickets in 12 games. He bowled the decider over in the final where the match went to the very last ball but Malinga kept himself calm under pressure and dismissed Shardul Thakur on the last delivery to help Mumbai Indians in lifting the trophy for 4th time in the history of IPL.
Malinga missing out on IPL is a big blow for the Mumbai based franchise however the responsibility of Jasprit Bumrah is doubled now.
