Atmanirbhar Bharat App Innovation challenge is all over the news for all the techies and startups out there! This challenge was due to the result of the vision of an aatma nirbhar Bharat envisioned by our PM Narendra Modi
For all those who are new to this country, let me tell you how this challenge came into being…
As we all are aware of our PM’s speeches and various kinds of”Mann ki Baat” which he delivers to address the nation, one such speech was made on 12 May 2020, the lockdown address to the nation. In that speech, he talked about an Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self- dependent India) and motivated everyone to bring their efforts to make this dream real.
Under this very idea, various steps were taken. Among them, the one which is most in the discussion, are the banning of 59 Chinese apps and the very title of this article, Atmanirbhar Bharat App Innovation challenge.
Well if you ask me, I think Chinese apps banning is a great move! I mean, apart from their being originated in China, most of the apps like TikTok and other short videos featuring apps, showcased such cringe content! It would force me to just shut my eyes, ears, and all other leftover senses, and just go into isolation(As I had seen everything!!)
Anyways, I was talking about the ban on Chinese apps, so I present to you the list of those 59 apps which are banned(They should have attained a round figure of 60!)

Oh, God! So many apps and so many new words were added to the dictionary of this article. I swear, this was no piece of cake to write down these apps.
Guys, we get to know one thing from this list. China was so into our personal lives that we didn’t even notice. We can get many alternatives for these apps, but there is no alternative for our precious lives and our motherland.
And I guess such ban is going good as there was a news that the parent company of TikTok, by the name of Bytedance has suffered a loss of INR 450000000000!! That’s a huge amount!
So let’s all promote this initiative and get going!

About Atmanirbhar Bharat App Innovation Challenge
Nowadays, Apps have become an integral part of our life. No matter what technical task we want to pursue, we need apps, at all costs!
The apps which have been banned by India, the alternative of those apps are also available. But our honorable Pm wants that the alternatives should be Made In India.
Therefore, this challenge is kept in front of the youth, as we know that Indians love challenges, and a challenge coming directly from the PM, means a lot.
This challenge aims at encouraging technical startups to get a kick start in the industry of our country. This will give us an edge, at least an initiative will be made.
The need for this challenge is to make world-class apps that are Made In India, under 8 categories. This App innovation challenge has been launched in the combined partnership of the Ministry of Electronics &IT and Atal Innovation Mission-Niti Aayog. Gear up guys, the last date of submission of entries is July 18.
The 8 categories under which the innovators can work are as follows:-
- Social Networking
- Office productivity and work from India
- E-Learning
- Health and Wellness
- Entertainment
- News
- Business Including Fintech and Agritech
- Games
This is just a step ahead in the initiative to make in India movement.
In My opinion-
Well, if you ask me, in my opinion, this is a great step towards the development of our nation. I mean, whom are we kidding guys, the future is going to be digital. So such an initiative will also promote the digital India vision.
Thi challenge will promote the usage of apps other than those that are made in China and along with it, it will also make us Indians proud as who knows we might be using apps made in India and that would in return give us ease and pride and above all, comfort in using such apps.
Making apps in India would be much better as we will be making them following our needs and various other factors, like the kind of internet connectivity, weather, and the traffic of all the websites which are browsed in our country throughout the year.
By understanding such parameters, we can easily list out the technicalities which must prevail in our app and after that, all we need is just a bit of knowledge of app development and time (both are available in plenty due to the lockdown!)
Guys such initiatives like this Atmanirbhar Bharat App Innovation challenge must be followed and those who can do must do it! And why only limit it to only the techies and startup people, why can’t we all support this? Maybe we can develop an app that will teach us how to make an app! (As far as Iknow this idea is unique!)
And following that app, we can generate more apps and increase our reach and cover all the portholes prevailing in the development of such a great nation, which has such a rich and beautiful history of so many knowledgeable people!
Till now, India has ancient and sacred knowledge for whatever science that exists in this world, or any other world, known or unknown! Maybe can design an app that can tell us about the history of a place where we are standing! It can include all the monuments and sacred places, a tourist guide map!
Well, I am brimming with ideas, and it is just the way my beloved country works. She puts in the best of the ideas into the young and receptacle minds of the youth and the rest is just success!
