Terrace Garden

The garden is also known as the Zakir Hussain Rose Garden, named after the former President of India.

The period between February and March is the best possible time to visit the Rose Garden as the flowers will be in full bloom. And because of the same reason, the Rose festival happens during that period.And this is also one of the places to visit in Chandigarh.

The massive Rock Garden spans an area of 40 acres in sector 1, 1.5 km from Sukhna Lake.

Built in the year 1957, the garden is also known as Nek Chand’s Rock Garden, named after officer Nek Chand, who built it. The Rock Garden displays a wide range of sculptures made up of industrial and urban wastes.This is one among the beautiful places to visit in Chandigarh.

It is a garden of colourful sculptures made of mosaic. It has about 5000 statues. 

 

Botanical Garden

 

The Botanical Gardens in Chandigarh has two gardens.

One of them is in between the Rock garden and Sukhna lake, whereas the other one is inside the Punjab University campus.
