Apple is working on both AR glasses and AR/VR headset

AR glasses and AR/VR headset is the new perspective to view the physical world as we know. AR or better known as Augmented Reality is the basic concept of viewing the physical world on the screen right in front of you with extensive use of coding and enhanced computer tech.

So many companies nowadays are just grabbing the first chance they get to reveal AR glasses in this new cool technology in their copyright way because it could just change the very face of reality. It could alter the very fabric of nature as we know it and accordingly, the human species will experience the virtual world no matter if the real reality is tormented.

So keeping in mind the race which is on for Ar glasses and AR/VR headsets, how can we forget the experienced racers? I am talking about the company owning the ios technology, with a very fruity name, Apple.

It is a new reveal that Apple is going to launch their very own AR glasses and AR/VR headsets. As per the sources, the headsets are set to be released in the upcoming year i.e. 2021 while the glasses will be shown to the world in the year 2022.

AR Glasses or better still the Apple N421 glasses

Apple is launching its brand new glasses with the AR concept whether its in demand or not. It was earlier known to be showcased this year but I guess Apple is done for this year with all of its products whether its the Iphone12 or Apple watch 6 or the Air pods studio. One of the most reliable Apple leakers Jon Prosser has informed that the release date of these glasses would be around March-June 2021. For all those newcomers, I would like to add that these glasses are going to showcase whatever is going on in your I-phone which could be emails, notifications, media, etc.

The design of this very augmented reality glasses was very much argued upon in reality. It was seen during its test run that although the design was fully power-packed, the hardware was pretty heated up. An idea that was suggested was the use of external hardware to control these glasses. But this idea was pretty soon rejected so the only way out which was seen was to reduce the power of the software. Despite these changes, the glasses are no less and runs on Starboard which was the operating system uncovered during the introduction of ios13.

The specs and other stuff about the specs!

Although the glasses aren’t exactly spectacles or specs, still a little wordplay does not harm! The specs of these glasses which are revealed as of now are as follows-

  • These glasses bring the information from your phone to your field of view within the framework of glasses
  • The phone is easily synced with the glasses and the user can access the mails and other notifications
  • There is also an introduction to the third-party apps which would be available in the apple store for the convenience of the user and the syncing of the glasses to the phone along with a good wifi connection as a prerequisite
  • Another wonderful feature is still a rumor but if real, it could be amazing to look upon. The glasses won’t be requiring any prescribed lenses as the optical subassembly will automatically adjust for people with poor eyesight. This feature could bring out yet another patent for apple.
  • Few of the features resemble the Hololens 2 like the very presence of 52 degrees field of view and 47 PPI resolution.
  • As far as battery life is concerned, it can be somewhat near to 3 hours (pretty less!)

Design in brief-

Apple has introduced a somewhat non- threatening kind of look to the glasses along with the lens made out of plastic. Despite the work done in and on the glasses they will be light for the users to wear. On the right side of the glasses, there is the provision of the famous lidar sensors excluding any other camera on the glasses, although it may change in the future. Being an accessory to the I phone it may have effects on the looks and performance but it will be comfortable to put on. In the future who knows, there might be the availability of tinted frames.

About the N301 AR/VR headset-

The AR/VR headset of Apple with the codename N301 is here to change the phase of reality. It is rumored to launch in 2022 which is the next year after the launch of AR Glasses. This headset is said to combine the best of both i.e. AR and VR. Rockwell’s team is working hard on this project and is sure to give an extra edge to Apple. Although this headset might be a little deficient based on technology it still is pretty advanced compared to other pieces of this age. Combined with a cinematic speaker and an ultra-high resolution screen, this headset is bound to be a thrill for the users.

This headset which has a full fabric body is to some extent similar to the Oculus Quest which belongs to Facebook based on design. Sources have also reported that this headset will have its independent apple store which will support games, video streaming, and many other features. Apple also plans to instill voice-activated Siri in it for the perusal of the user. It has also been reported that Rockwell’s team is working on a good degree of independence from Apple and has quite several teammates.

The headset will be capable of mapping the surface, and the dimensions of a room with much greater precision and accuracy as compared to the other similar kinds of products available in the market.

Brief specs-

The headset is said to have 8K screens, one for each eye and it won’t be connected to any computer or any other device for that matte It would be having its dedicated box kind of thing which will support it in every way possible. There will be the usage of high speed, short-range technology which is known as 60Ghz WiGig.

The box will be working on the 5 nanometer Apple processor which is the most powerful until now in the Apple era and there won’t be any need to install extra cameras around the room as are required in similar products of other companies. Most of the technology would be built-in the headset and the box itself.

Well, in my opinion, these both products, AR glasses, and AR/VR headsets just look so lucrative and fantastic and I sure they will be an expensive treat for all of the apple lovers! All I can say is that these products are a class apart and science is developing like hell!!
