South Indian Action movies are the new cool for Bollywood and among new ways to kill time for me in this lockdown period.

Most of the South Indian action movies which are shown on the television are dubbed in Hindi. That makes them so much fun to watch! All the silly action sequences along with destroyed dubbed dialogues in Hindi, Ah!! Just the thing needed with popcorn and drinks;)

Anyways, I don’t want to have the fun alone, so here I am presenting to you a list of top 10, no, top 20 South Indian Action movies, for your kind perusal:)

But before we begin, let me bore you a little with a brief over Tollywood. It will serve me with purposes. One, I will be able to fulfill my allocated minimum word limit. And two, It will increase my knowledge a bit! (I know you will scroll up, but still!)

About South Indian Movies-

The cinema of South India refers collectively to the 5 different film industries of South India i.e. Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Tulu film industries. The “headquarters” of these films are based in Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Bengaluru, and Mangaluru.

Although these films have been developed independently for a long time, there have been some exchanges in between, which lead to Globalisation, formed a strong foundation for Indian Cinema.

South Indian Action Movies:

Many south Indian action movies are much better than Bollywood movies. Some of them became blockbusters in South India.

Here are the top 20 best south Indian action movies dubbed in Hindi list to check out in 2020:

1. Sivaji the Boss:

This Rajnikanth-super hit movie was released in 2007 and was directed by S.Shankar. The film stars Rajnikanth, Sriya Saran, with Suman, Vivek, Mannivannan, and Raghuvaran.

This film is all about a software systems architect, Shivaji, who returns to India from the USA and is ready to help the society with medical treatment and education. However, his ambitious plans are blocked by an influential businessman, namely, Adiseshan, and when corruption gets into way, Sivaji is left with no option but to fight.

I think that’s a great plotline, you should watch it!

2. Robot:

This movie was also directed by S.Shankar and came in the year 2010. It stars Rajnikanth, Aishwarya Rai as the lead, and Danny Dengzongpa Santhanam and Karunas in the supporting role.

This movie is all about a Robot made by Dr. Vasikaran who was christened as Chitti. He was a remarkable robot and was just like a human. Very efficiently he would carry out all the tasks for his master until the turn of events caused Dr.Vasikaran to put emotions in the robot.

And that is where the trouble began since the robot turned evil and started ruining the city. Now it is up to the master to save the world.!

I liked this Action/Sci-Fi movie, but it is for three hours in length. That was, intolerable!

3. Khatarnak Khiladi:

This yet another action sequel was directed by debutante, Koratal Siva, and came in the year 2013.  It stars Prabhas, Anushka Shetty and Richa Langella, with Sathyaraj, Nadhiya, Adithya Menon, Sampath Raj, Brahmanandam.

This is a sort of romantic/action sequence. The story revolves around a girl falling in love with a boy because of his good deeds and nature. But the girl is not aware that the boy is of the rival family. So the story takes a twist there and rest is punches, kicking, Kung fu and stuff!!

This movie has won many awards and I think it as a reason simple enough to watch it.

4. The power of three- Jai Luv Kush:

Because of the title poorly punctuated, I first thought that Luv and Kush are being hailed! But it’s not like that. This movie was released in the year 2017, and directed by K.S.Ravindra.It stars, Jr.NTR, in a triple role as the man, lead while Raashi Khanna and Nivetha Thomas play the female lead.

This story is about three identical twins, namely Jai, Luv, and Kush. Jai Kumar aka Raavan is of course the fighter. Luv is a bank manager who adheres to his principles and leads a happy life, while Kusa Kumar is an expert mugger with a happy-go-lucky attitude who does anything for money.

They spend a happy life together, but get separated, and later on join back as one when conditions get bad. Typical Bollywood style movie!

5. Main hi Raja, Main hi mantri:

First of all, whosoever came with the tile of the movie was not clear with the working system of kings and people! How can one man be the king and minister himself? That’s just not possible. But it is proven to the public.

This movie was released in the year 2017 and was directed by Teja. It stars Rana Daggubati as the lead, along with Kajal Agarwal, Catherine Tresa, Navdeep, and Ashutosh Rana. It is a political/action then I guess the title is apt.

This story is about an ordinary moneylender namely Jogendar who later on with tips and tricks, becomes a politician, with a lot of blood and love in between. This movie also features a love triangle between jogendar and the other female leads. Overall, it is an engaging plot.

6. Makkhi:

Later on, Nani is incarnated as a mosquito or “Makhhi” and he and Bindu together make Sudeep’s life a living hell.

I like the concept of the movie, it is unique. It shows that even a mosquito is capable of taking revenge, so beware.
