India to host dangerous England in February 2021 followed by IPL 14: Sourav Ganguly

India will host England right after returning from Downunder in 2021.

India will be hosting England in February 2021. This will be India’s first home series since January 2020 when they played against Australia.

When Men in blue locked horns against Australia for 3-match ODI series where Men in blue emerged as victorious.

In a letter to IANS, the former national skipper Sourav Ganguly said that we will start hosting tournaments next year, which includes the T20 World Cup and also the ODI World Cup in 2023. He further informed that the next Indian Premier League (IPL) will be played from April 2021.

Ganguly also said that the national governing body of cricket is making all the efforts to mark the return of cricket in India. The Domestic Cricket will begin soon, assured Ganguly.

“We are very pleased to inform all our members that the BCCI will be hosting IPL 2020 in UAE from September 19 till November 10. We have made sure that a bio-secure environment is created in UAE as players take all the necessary precaution once they reach there,” said Ganguly.

“BCCI is making a lot of efforts to get the derailed domestic cricket back on track. Precautions are followed as players are slowing returning for practice in their locality. The health and safety of every domestic player and others involved in the resumption of cricket is the topmost priority of the Board.

“All members will be duly informed about the future plans and suggestions will be taken from them as well before the domestic setup starting functioning like normal. We are hoping that the COVID-19 situation will get better in the coming months in the entire world and we will be able to start domestic cricket in a safe and healthy environment,” he wrote.

“The BCCI and the Indian cricket team will continue to fulfil its FTP commitments. The senior Indian men’s team will travel to Australia in December for Test match series followed by limited-overs fixtures and later in February England will give a visit to India as per the conversation between two boards. Right after England series, the IPL-14 will be organized. The tours of the senior Indian women’s teams are also under talks and more details will be shared as the fixtures will be finalised,” Sourav Ganguly added.

Right after the IPL season 13, team India will tour to Australia for a complete action package of Test, ODI and T-20 Cricket.

The teams have already started to leave for UAE for IPL cricket. BCCI has introduced strict protocols for the players in Dubai and the franchises need to ensure that the protocols are followed by every individual.

Also, IPL 14 will be held right after the England Series which means players won’t get a long break between two events.
