1. Tannirbhavi Beach
Tannirbhavi Beach is one of the famous places of Mangalore and the center of tourist attraction. It is located along the coastal lines of Karnataka. The environment is tranquil and reposeful. Ideal for sunrise and sunset sightseeing.
The area is sandy with light waves from the sea. The vivid blue and parky seawater, passing by your feet will hose down your heavy mood. You may enjoy the chilled breeze by walking alongside the river.
Tannirbhavi tree park is located near the beach and adds up the scenic beauty of the place. It has a comforting and peaceful environment.

2. Sultan Battery
Sultan Battery is one of the famous places of Mangalore and located in Booler(Mangalore). The tower was constructed by Tipu Sultan, and the monument’s fortification was used as a watchtower. It was used to Barricade the ships and enemy’s warships from entering the province through the river routes.
From the top of the tower, you may enjoy the divine and incredible cyclorama of the landscape. The tower is located near Tannirbhavi Beach and almost at the center of Mangalore. You may visit the place during sunset to enjoy the scenic beauty of nature. Boating clubs nearby are attracting tourists. 3.Pilikula Nisarga Dhama
Pilikula Nisarga Dhama provides multiple sources of tourist attraction. It is one of the famous places in Mangalore. Pilikula means lake for tigers. It is located in the district of Dakshina Kannada and is aligned along the coastal region of Karnataka.
The lake there is surrounded by a botanical garden.
- Pilikula Botanical Garden is surrounded by pines trees. There is a beautiful forest near the lake. The cropped bushes, bougainvillea garden near the lake, sunflower garden near the lawn, all adds up to the beauty of the place.
- Pilikula Botanical Garden, at the entrance, is adorned by Mussaenda trees and shrubs. Peace lilies at the entrance, which mounts up the beauty of the place. Birds and fishes enhance the beauty of the lake.
- There are a zoo and water park over the place. The animals are not caged but are separated by wire mesh and trenches from the visitors.
Science center, Swami Vivekananda Planeterim(The only 3D planetarium in India), Golf course, and the tropical monsoon winds at the place increases its desirability.
4. Ullal Beach
The Ullal beach is situated at the southernmost coastal line of the Indian subcontinent. The Dargah of Sayed Mohammad Shereful Madani is near this place. Due to the southwestern monsoon, this place also witnesses tropical monsoonal winds.
The place has many cathedrals and churches beautifying the landscapes. The beach is serene and calm with beautiful cottages, resorts, and restaurants along the beach. It is worth visiting and therefore, attracts tourists.

5. Karkala
Karkala is a beautiful town located in the Udupi district of Karnataka and is 60 kilometers away from Mangalore. It’s a unique town that worships all religions and is multilinguist. It’s a place of pilgrimage for Jains and is maintaining its sanctity.
The city area is approx. 23.06km square. The main source of water supply in the town is Mundi River and Maala River. The major lakes of the place are:

Tiger dance, Cookfight, Tulunadu(An ancient ritual practiced here)and Kambala(Buffalo Racing) depicts some major part of their tradition.
6. Jamalabad Fort
Jamalabad Fort is a very famous destination for trekking and adventures. It has a mountain fortification and was constructed during the rule of Tipu Sultan. It is located at Killoor Road, Dakshina Kannada District of Karnataka. This place is 65 kilometers from Mangalore.
It has many secret chambers that were used to hide and during war times. The top of the hill was used to load canons. During the war of 1799, the Britishers won the fort. The fort timings are from 6 am to 4 pm and provides a great view of sunrise and sunset.
7. Venur
Venur is a beautiful place in ancient history. It is of great significance for pilgrimage near Mangalore for Jains. It is one of the famous places in Mangalore. It’s a gigantic architecture carved as Lord Gomateshwara statue. The statue is 35 feet high and magnificent. These are major tourist attractions.
The place is established at the banks of River Phalguni, Dakshina Kannada, Karnataka. The destination is 54 km from Mangalore. The temples found there are one of many famous places located in Mangalore.

8. Hanumanagundi Falls
Hanumanagundi falls or Soothanabbi falls is one of the famous places in Mangalore. The destination is 79 kilometers from Mangalore.It is beautiful cascades of nature and the waterfall is 72 ft high. It’s a journey of climbing 400 steps and hard rocks. After this, you reach your desired destination. But the place is worth visiting, It offers you such unrealistic and amazing views.
9. Kadri Manjunath Temple
Kadri Manjunath Temple is one of the ancient temples of India . It was constructed around 10th century and is devotional place for hindus, and the worship Lord Shiva here. Many artforms and statues have been carved on the walls of the Temple.
It is located at Kadri, Mangalore, Karnataka. The temple remains open for all weekdays between 6 am to 1 pm and 4 pm to 8 pm. It attracts devotees in large numbers from different parts of the world.
10. Kukke Subramanya
Kukke Subramanya is one of the famous Hindu temples where lord Subramanya(lord of all serpents) Vasuki is worshipped. The pilgrims and devotees visit the temple every year in large numbers.
The temple is located at Subramanya, Karnataka, and the everyday timing is 6:00 am to 9:00 pm with free entry.
