Indians bowlers have always donned the Test Cricket. The pacers and bowlers have always hunted in pairs.

Here we look at the bowlers we created many records for Team India while asking questions to the batsmen.

Fastest to 100 wickets:

Indian Bowler Ashwin

Indian pitches and the spinners are the best pair you’ll ever see. Ravichandran Ashwin who made his debut for team India in 2011 against the West Indies claimed his 100th Test wicket against the same opposition in just 2y 8d.

Ashwin claimed this feat in 2013 in the series which was the last International Series for Sachin Tendulkar. Ashwin was the fifth fastest bowler in the world to achieve this mark.

Fastest to 200 wickets:

Ashwin continued his brilliance in the Test Cricket and once again became the fastest Indian bowler to claim 200 Test wickets. Ashwin took 4y 321d to reach there. Ashwin was third quickest in the world to reach 200 wickets.

Ashwin’s showed how dangerous he can be on the Indian soil. He bowled brilliant throughout the series against New Zealand in which he claimed his 200th Test wicket.

His partner in bowling Ravindra Jadeja was the 16th fastest bowler in the world to reach this mark. Also, Ravindra Jadeja is the second fast Indian bowler to claim 200 Test wickets. He reached the mark in 44 games. Taking 7 more games compared to Ashwin.

Fastest to 300 wickets:

Ashwin who was the fifth fastest bowler in the world to claim 100 wickets and third fastest bowler to claim 200 wickets emerged out to be the fastest bowler to claim 300 Test scalps.

Ashwin reached the 300-mark on 24 November 2017 against the neighbours Sri Lanka when they visited India. He took 6y 18d to reach there.

He was appreciated by legends like Anil Kumble who was previously the quickest Indian to reach this mark.

Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan and Kapil Dev are the other Indians in the list but they took more time as compared to Ashwin.

Fastest to 400 wickets:

400 hundred Test wickets are not easy to get especially when you have to play against likes of Ricky Ponting, Adam Gilchrist, Brian Lara, Andrew Strauss. But the Indian jumbo Anil Kumble became the fastest Indian bowler to reach 400 test wickets mark.

He was the only Indian bowler after Kapil Dev to reach 400 wickets. Anil Kumble reached 400-mark on 6 October 2004. It took 14 years for him to reach here.

Harbhajan also claimed 400 test wickets in 13 years. He reached the feat in 2011 in West Indies but he took more games than Anil Kumble.

Fastest to 500 wickets:

Anil Kumble reached another bench-mark within 2 years after accomplishing the task of 500 test scalps. He is the only Indian till now in the list which includes legends like Murlidharan, Walsh, James Anderson and was recently joined by Stuart Broad.

Kumble claimed his 500th test wicket in 2006 against England on the Indian soil. Kumble is the only bowler who has claimed all 10 wickets in an innings.

From the list, it is clear that Indian Bowlers especially the spinners have dominated the longest format of the game.
